Hatch eggs with steady heat and humidity
Pothi incubator · पोथी
Pothi is an egg incubator designed, prototyped and built in Nepal. It took first prize in the Made in Nepal category at Idea Studio.
It replaces manual nesting and expensive imports with automatic temperature and humidity control.
What it does
- Several bird types
- Set for chicken and duck eggs, with configurations for quail, partridge and pheasant. Larger versions can be built for turkey or ostrich eggs.
- Automatic climate control
- A microcontroller holds temperature and humidity at the set values.
- Automatic egg turning
- Rollers turn the eggs at set intervals through the day, as a hen would.
- Readings without opening the door
- Digital indicators show the status, so the cabinet stays closed and the climate stays steady.
- More than one power source
- Built for the power cuts of local grids.
